Public Breakfast

The First Saturday of every month, Post 738 prepares a breakfast for all. 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Please come and enjoy a good meal. The cost is a free will donation.

As a small assembly who at times acts a little off-beat within a larger, more serious organization, we are always looking to Increase and Multiply. If this sounds like something you might be interested in doing, we want to know about you. If you are not currently a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S., we can help you to take that first step. Buddy Poppies

VFW Post 738 and its Auxiliary will be distributing Buddy Poppies on Memorial Day weekend on Friday and Saturday.

Veteran Outreach

Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help. Please Call 515-323-7546 for help!!

We of VFW Post 738 would like to welcome all our new members and remind all members of the Post meeting the 1st Saturday of.the month at 10am. WE have also opened the post for meetings come on in and have a cup of coffee or attend using Zoom (check your newsletter for the invite).

Our Post is located at 2801 Dean Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317, the post was chartered in received in 1921. The Post's holds its monthly meeting on the lst Saturday of the month at 10:30 am.  The Post has been a  All American Post 6 time along with being a All State Post, also we are the Top Post for Community Service in the State for the last 3 years.   
We all so host an Auxiliary Charter, and a very active Honor Guard.  Cooties Pup Tent # 1 also meets here the 1st Sat of the Month at Noon.
